Ben Stalets
I always enjoy watching Ben Stalets new edits...and the fact that a good portion of his jib spots are close to home makes the sections even better. There's nothing more fulfilling than finding something new/looking at something in a new fashion in your own hood. It's like discovering gold.
Ben's a sweet dude, a solid supporter of Profile, and someone we're stoked to help out...here's a little conversation we had about Ohio, summer, and spot finding. Enjoy.

1.Hometown.

Rossford Ohio (little 'burb of Toledo)

2.Considering its summer time and the sun is shining outdoors, why did you vouch to shoot these shots in-doors?

Actually those shots were out doors. The skaters around here built a little ledge on the side of an old train station. It's sick cause it has sweet graffiti and a nice vibe to chill at. I'm always out doors unless I'm riding our new park... but even that's pretty rare in the summer.

3.You have your hands dirty with a new skatepark in Ohio...considering Ohio has been (historically) the capital for amazing all bmx parks, what are you guys doing differently?

Well, I am not trying to come off like I have much to do with the park anymore other than I'm good friends with everyone that built it. In the beginning I worked there every day for 3 or 4 months straight. Then it opened up and after about 4 weeks of being opened they flooded, bad. So they had to re-build the ceiling, a lot of ramps, and kill a lot of mold. And I helped with absolutely none of that because I was too busy with my current job at the bike shop.

4.You seem to be forever working on a new video project with new, wild spots. How much time to you spend looking for unique set ups?

Most of the setups I ride I see on a regular basis. Or I'll pass one when I'm driving with someone and keep it in mind for the next time someone asks me to film. I am a big fan of riding the same things I did growing up and just keep doing different things on them too. But I love exploring places I haven't been too.

5.What's on the immediate horizon?

Just relaxing trying to stay chill in this summer heat. Not pushing anything and I'd like to start digging at the trails again.
