How We Make It: Post production (polishing) on a Profile stem.

Once a Mulville stem body and cap come out of the machine, the finishing process is only half way done.
We actually hand polish stems as people need them. For instance, if Circuit BMX Shop in New England orders a polished stem, below is the process we have to complete to get it out the door…

#1: Grab the correct size stem body and cap. Grab de-burring tools.

#2: De-burr the cap, getting rid of all excess material attached to the radius

#3 and #4: De-burr the stem body.

#5 and #6: Take the stem body and cap to the polishing wheel and polish to a mirror finish.
This process takes about five minutes.

#7: “Cook” stem and cap in an ultra-sonic cleaner.

07 Cleaning in Ultrasonic bath

#8: Dry off, thread bolts and package.
