Jared Eberwein: Getting hitched.

“Don’t really have too much BMX news going on in my life lately, because of my ACL injury. Recovery is going well though, its definitely known that I need to be pushed and do more of the challenging stuff. More like on an “athlete” level. Once my injury happened and was confirmed, I had to except the hard fact that it would be about 6 months until I can ride again, still don’t except it haha. Aside from that, I didn’t realize I needed to walk down the aisle for my own wedding. Blinded by the injury, I overlooked it. Two months until my wedding, I was doing everything I could to get everything sped up. Doctors appointments, MRI’s, surgery, etc. The soonest I was able to get the surgery set was April 10th. The wedding May 31st, I had no experience with knee injuries. I was kind of in a panic, counting days out, doing the math, and figuring everything out. I had 50 days to start walking again since surgery. The doctor and physical therapist would think about it and very nonchalant say “yeah, you’ll be walking”. I think the confidence I was looking for wasn’t too easy to find in their voices. First two weeks, I was just using the CPM leg machine that bends your knee for you. Then after that started physical therapy, two weeks after I started that. I finally hit my four week mark, and was allowed to apply pressure. It was amazing, far from normal, but anything was better then nothing. I calmly gained confidence, and knew I’d be walking down that aisle no problem. Happily marrying my best friend that I met when I was 9 years old, Devin Collen Crothers” – Jared
