Mulville: How I spent my Christmas of 2015.
For starters, it’s been a warm one (to say the least). Florida winters
are usually in the 60s and 70s, but this one has been a solid 80s and
holding. With the warm weather, comes lots of activity in the water
and in the woods, as well as exploration.
I spent Christmas Day in New Port Richey, Florida (which is where I
grew up) with my family. Our neighborhood was surrounded by a golf
course, which I spent a lot of time on. Wether it be: golfing, helping
with side work, playing with alligators, skim boarding, ect. I have a
lot of memories at that place… What I didn’t know was that the
course had closed down years ago. So in between family time, I went
and pedaled around the course and explored. What was once a prime
Pasco county destination and the location of my Hole In One, was now a
waste land covered by swamps and woods. To say the least, Christmas
Day was a good one.
Onto the weekend following: I woke up early the next day and caught a
nice sunrise and surf session at home. I felt like I needed more, so I
made the 45 minute trek out to Palm Bay to hit up the Grapefruit
Trails, with Shawn, the Nau’s and some other good folks. It was, as
usual, an amazing session with tons of smiles and good times.
Christmas for me was indeed, amazing!
Thanks,
Mark M.
