Vince Kroff and the story of the AZ tranny wall.

The first time I had seen the famous white tranny walls in AZ was in Road Fools 11, being a fan of the handplant the first thing I thought was how rad it would be to handplant those things.

I had been to Phoenix a few times since seeing RF11 as a kid but never got to hit the walls. Finally I was on a trip a few years back and got a chance to hit them, being extreamly excited to possibly try the move, I grab my bike look at the walls, sprint across the gravel full speed to the platform the walls are on and get sent, my bike went flying and got all jacked up. If you dont already know, there is this crazy bubble in the middle of transition. So fast forward a few years and I’m out in AZ again on a Solid Bikes trip with some of my best buds, we decide to make a special trip out to the spot just for me to get it done. Darkness was approching but we got out there just before the sun went all the way down, my friend Nick Hammer sets up for a pic real quick, I take about two tries and go down, hit it the third time and pull it. I was beyond stoked that I had accomplished something that i’ve been thinking about doing since I was a teenager.
