Recycling

Profile makes all of our products in our machine shop right here in Saint Petersburg, Florida. The 16 CNC machines each generate a fair amount of “chips” (extra bits of metal) during the process of turning solid bar stock into a hub or a stem or a sprocket. We recycle all of this waste material.
Aluminum
Since the majority of the parts we make are made from Aluminum, the majority of our scrap is also AL- we collect it in 55 gallon drums from each machine, and then dump those drums into a 4′x4′x8′ dumpster. It usually takes 10 – 14 days for us to fill up the dumpster again.
Steel
The second (empty) dumpster in the background of the first photo is for steel chips. It usually takes us a bit longer to fill up that dumpster, it’s emptied every three weeks or so. The 55 gallon drums in the second picture are full of steel chips waiting for their chance to be dumped in the dumpster.
Oil & Coolant
We also recycle all of the oil and coolant that our machines use. This giant drum of used oil is emptied about once a year. Old machine coolant is saved as well in a smaller drum, and picked up every couple of months for proper disposal.

COVID-19 UPDATE

We are taking precautions to protect our employees and follow CDC and state guidelines. In the meantime, our machine shop is still running, we're here to assist you and we'll be shipping product to help support bike shops during this difficult time.
