Degroot and the Candy Land Pump Track
2 years in the making and we can finally say it’s done. Ready, set, ride. Grant writing wording, patience, being on a bike path, patience, using 100k of the 200k to split for a jungle gym and pump track, patience, designs n drawings n timing, patience. Lot of work, lot of emails and meetings, well worth the wait. Also the strong backing of the city members including the Mayor and serious thanks to Chris at Leisure services and parks. He is the king.
Here is what was awarded: of only 35 grants given out to cities in Florida and competing with big ones like Miami, Tallahassee Jacksonville, Tampa, and more. Longwood has been selected to receive the 2018-2019 FRDAP Special Grant Cycle, Recreational Enhancements and Opportunities for Children: Children’s FRDAP grant for 200k.
