Profile Racing’s Legacy: Week One, 1968.
This is our first Profile installment of 50-weekly posts kicking off a year of celebrating Profile’s 50th Anniversary.
Jim Alley, owner and founder of Profile Racing, Inc. adds, “I’d like to thank you all for your support through the years. And, as we start the celebration of our 50th year in business you can look forward to some great stories and history about Profile Racing. Thank you again for all your support.”
This photo above is of Profile’s birth place in Flemington, NJ. (Circa 1968) showing a top fuel dragster in front of our Profile Speedshop where Jim Alley fabricated race cars, dragsters and open wheel sprint cars. Notice the beginning of Profile’s iconic logo font with the Pacman “e”.
One of the original products produced was the Profile Power Steering Gear for Open-Wheel/Sprint/Northeast modified race cars. Below is a photo shot today (1/3/2018) of what has progressed from that original gear. Did this gear’s design inspire the original, Profile 48-Splined crank spindle? More on this next week.
Thus begins our 50th Anniversary celebration from our race car roots to a world leader in Bmx freestyle, Bmx racing and MTB componentry.
Next week, 1969.
Thanks for the support!
