A common misconception is that rim size reflects tire size. Although rim size remains static, tire size is not only labelled differently but varies between brands.

Below is a graph using Sun Rims combined with Maxxis tires. Although some tires can be manipulated to fit on other size rims, this graph below shows the standards.
